Free Malaysia Today | Nepturis Sdn Bhd has a four-star rating from the CIDB, and was allegedly assisted by Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan to obtain the RM232 million Central Spine Road – Sertik to East Coast Highway Interchange project from the government. Wan Saiful’s counsel, Amer Hamzah Arshad, asked whether the CIDB score was a condition for a contractor to bid for government projects.

Malay Mail | Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) assistant engineer said Nepturis Sdn Bhd obtained a four-star rating from CIDB, given as a recognition to contractors who have ability and capability. Nepturis is a company allegedly assisted by Wan Saiful Wan Jan to obtain a highway project worth RM232 million. Wan Saiful was represented by lawyer Amer Hamzah Arshad.

Free Malaysia Today | The MACC had conducted a principal investigation into the Jana Wibawa programme in late 2022 based on information received from a source, and an MACC officer lodged a complaint so as not to reveal the identity of the source. Cross-examined by lawyer Amer Hamzah Arshad, the officer said she was not privy to the principal investigation.

The Edge Malaysia | An MACC officer was uncertain from whom instructions to file a complaint came, with regard to bribery allegations against Wan Saiful Wan Jan amounting to RM6.96 million. She said that the complaint stemmed from a previous investigation by the anti-graft agency. However, when grilled by defence counsel Amer Hamzah Arshad, the officer was unsure of many elements of the complaint.

The Star | An MACC officer told the Sessions Court that she was instructed to open a complaint against Wan Saiful Wan Jan regarding alleged bribery amounting to RM6.9mil from a company in relation to the Jana Wibawa project. Responding to lawyer Amer Hamzah Arshad, the witness said she did not know who gave the instructions to make the complaint or the information about the complaint.

Malay Mail | The third witness explained that approvals for the Jana Wibawa project, through open tender or direct negotiation, were approved by the PMO. When questioning the first witness earlier, defence counsel Amer Hamzah Arshad suggested that the complaint was lodged will ill intent against his client as the witness did not know any facts in this case, nor who is giving the orders.

Free Malaysia Today | The COA upheld the death penalty for six people convicted of the murder of DPP Kevin Morais eight years ago, saying the facts revealed that the murder was well-planned. Counsel Amer Hamzah Arshad appeared for S. Nimalan.

Malaysiakini | The Court of Appeal ruled that the crime was extraordinary and the six men deserved the death penalty. Counsel N. Sivananthan represented Kunaseegaran. Lawyers M. Manoharan, Burhanudeen Abdul Wahid, Afifuddin Ahmad Hafifi, Amer Hamzah Arshad, and Kitson Foong appeared for Dinishwaran, Thinesh, Vishwanath, Nimalan, and Ravi respectively.
