The 6th ASEAN-EU Policy Dialogue on Human Rights convened on 15 October 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. The Dialogue marked another milestone in strengthening interregional cooperation on human rights, the rule of law, good governance and democratic values for both regions. It facilitated a robust exchange of views on human rights in their respective regions, as well as on global developments and challenges, with implications on the promotion and protection of human rights.

The Dialogue was followed by a side event “ASEAN-EU Dialogue on Intensifying Actions and Overcoming Barriers in Implementing Business and Human Rights and Environment in ASEAN and the EU” on 16-17 October 2025, which included a field visit to a business site in Pahang, Malaysia. Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community, Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz, joined the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights in attending the Dialogue and related side event.
