PSM lead counsel Edmund Bon said courts should be wary of businesses using the court process to stop legitimate grievances from being raised by the media and human rights defenders. He was assisted by Soo Siew Mei, Chan Yen Hui, and Lee Yee Woei.

Bangladeshi politician to provide ‘expert testimony’ in wrongful detention claim

The Star | Lawyer Kee Shu Min said her client, an opposition politician from Bangladesh, has been released under a special pass issued by the Immigration Department, pending completion of his habeas corpus application. She requested the court to issue a trial notice to facilitate the renewal of the special pass. High Court judge K. Muniandy allowed the application and fixed July 3 for the habeas corpus hearing.

New Straits Times | Bangladeshi opposition leader M.A. Quayum will submit evidence of an expert witness from his home country to support his habeas corpus application seeking release from what he claimed to be unlawful detention by the Immigration Department. His lawyer Kee Shu Min informed the High Court that the evidence will be affirmed in an affidavit.

Nepturis is a company allegedly assisted by Wan Saiful Wan Jan to obtain a highway project worth RM232 million. Wan Saiful was represented by lawyer Amer Hamzah Arshad.
