The COA ruled that the prosecution should differentiate the venue of the alleged offences to differentiate the jurisdiction of the local court and to be fair to the accused. New Straits Times | MUDA Sec-Gen Amir Hariri Abd Hadi was charged under section 9(1) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012, which carries a maximum RM10,000 fine upon conviction, for failing to notify the authorities before the #ManaKapalLCS protest. Lawyer Beatrice Chin Yuen Xin pleaded for a lower bail as this was Amir’s first offence and he had cooperated with the authorities throughout their investigation.
