The Collective of Applied Law & Legal Realism (CALR) is the rapid delivery mechanism of AmerBON, Advocates’ pro bono services.

CALR hosted the Legal Aid Chit Chat Clinic No. 3 on 12 May 2020 to consider questions about the one-day parliament sitting and the ubiquitous police roadblocks during the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The topics discussed included:

  • the power of police officers to question drivers and conduct searches during roadblocks
  • employment issues, occupational health and safety, standard operating procedures, pay cuts, and illegal cost-cutting means
  • one-day parliamentary sitting and urgent issues that need to be debated in Parliament

The discussion on the right to health was postponed to the following session.
